Are all of our products certified?
Our NSF line is certified to the NSF/ANSI 305 Standard for Personal Care Products Containing Organic Ingredients. All products with the USDA Organic logo are certified to the USDA NOP Organic Standard. We have formulated all products with premium ingredients. The ingredients in our NSF and Certified Organic lines meet all federal requirements for organic ingredients and are certified by third-party certifying organizations such as: Quality Assurance International (QAI), Oregon Tilth, and other organic certifying agencies.
Are your “Natural” products certified?
Our line of “Natural” products do not carry the USDA or NSF certified seals, but we still maintain a minimum of 70% organic content in all products. You can rest assure that we only use the finest natural ingredients. All products are free of parabens, phthlalate, SLS, SLES and glycol. Most products are gluten free and vegan as well.
Are your products 100% vegan?
No. Products containing beeswax (Ah-Choo, Soothing Stick and Diaper Ointment) are naturally not 100% vegan. All other products are 100% vegan.
Are your shampoos ‘tear free’?
Although our shampoos are pH neutral and therefore naturally tear-free, few babies might have an allergic reaction that would trigger redness and/or irritation in their eyes.
Do you offer coupons for your products?
Yes, we do! Please visit one of our social media pages to keep up to date with any specials or coupons we are offering.
Do you ship internationally?
Currently, we do not offer international shipping.
How come all your products are not certified by the USDA?
Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to create a “good” shampoo or conditioner that comply to the strict list of allowed ingredients by the USDA’s National Organic Program (NOP). The NOP standards are mainly developed for food and agricultural products and as such, limit the use of traditional cosmetic/personal care ingredients that are widely used in the industry. As an example, we have yet to find a natural preservative that 1) keeps the product fresh on the shelves; 2) maintains product shelf stability for at least one year; 3) be commercially available, 4) works with products that contain water; and 5) comply to the USDA NOP standards. All products containing water must be preserved with either an alcohol-containing preservative, parabens or other commercially available preservatives. We do not preserve our products with alcohol because we have concerns about it’s absorption and drying effect on baby’s sensitive skin as well as irritation associated with dermatitis. The same goes for parabens. Hopefully, researchers and/or product formulators would eventually develop an effective 100% natural preservative in the near future. Until then, and as long as NOP standards remain the same, we have no alternative but to use a minimum amount of food-grade preservatives, such as sodium benzoate, in our products to maintain the necessary shelf life. Naturally, this is against our wish but we keep the amount of preservatives at a base minimum, just enough to extend the shelf life to an acceptable extent as expected by our customers. Therefore, our products are very delicate and can easily go rancid, if exposed to any source of contamination. We ask all our customers to keep the lids of their bottles closed after each use in order to avoid contaminating the content.
How do I know if I am allergic to any of your products?
We recommend that you carefully review the ingredient list of any product you use to determine if it is acceptable to your needs. If you see an allergic reaction, please stop using the product.
